Subrata Gangopadhyay is widely considered one of India’s leading painters in the modern realistic tradition. He has the skills of a virtuoso draftsman, skills that he honed during his years as the Senior Artist of the Ananda Bazar Group of publications.

Subrata Gangopadhyay exhibits widely within India. His work is in the collections of RPG Enterprises, the Taj Group, the Chennai Museum, Mayo College, and the Victoria Memorial, to name a few. His work has also been collected privately outside of India, including the United States, Germany, the United Kingdom, and France.
