Prafull Singh was born in 1976 in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. He completed his B.F.A from the M.S University in Baroda Prafull completed his M.F.A. from M.S. University, Baroda on 2001. He says each activity of life is a flow of energy and power of nature. I consider my work as part of nature and believe in its natural flow. It’s always been a tool to discover myself. He works from Mumbai.
He also received his Post Diploma from the same university in 2001. He received the 2003 Bendre-Husain Award from the Bombay Art Society and the 2001 Lalit Kala Academy, New Delhi scholarship. His works centre on the power of nature and the imbalances of this globalised world. He represents his ideas as a flow of energy, as though painting being part of the practice of meditation. He has participated in several camps such s the 2009 Emami Chisel Art Foundation, Kolkata and the 2008 Reliance Sculpture Symposium in Mumbai. His first solo show was at the Nehru Centre, Mumbai in 1998 and the most recent ones being held at Apparao Galleries, New Delhi, Lalit Kala, New Delhi and the India Art Fair, all in 2015. He has exhibited extensively around the country. His works are a part of important collections such as the RPG Collection, Reliance Industries collection and Bajaj Allianz Limited. He lives and works in Mumbai.
