Debasish Dutta

Born in West Bengal, the influence of the local Kalighat style as well as Indian miniature paintings can be seen in art by Debasish Dutta. Through the tiny figures of people and birds, engulfed in the vast landscape, he draws the viewer into the fine details and pictorial depth that characterize his work. Debasish is also fascinated by architecture, and at times he incorporates recognizable landmarks such as the Gateway of India in Mumbai and the Charminar in Hyderabad.

Debasish Dutta earned his Bachelors in painting from Rabindra Bharati University in Kolkata and later his Masters in Graphics from the M.S. University in Baroda.
