Perfect Synergy

The word Synergy originates from the Greek word (syn-ergos, meaning working together) which is the term used to describe a situation where different entities cooperate advantageously for a final outcome.

Genesis Gallery is proud to present Perfect Synergy, an exhibition of paintings by Ajay De, Anita Tanwar, Asit Patnaik, Bhagat Singh, Bose Krishnamachari, Bratin Khan, Chhatrapati Dutta, Jogen Chowdhury,K.Salve, Laxman Aelay, Manjari Chakravarti, Pampa Panwar, Prithvi Soni, S.Harshavardhan, Sanjay Kumar, Seema Kohli, Shuvaprasanna, Siddharth, Subhomita Dinda, Subrata Gangopadhyay, Sudip Roy, Sunil Das, Thota Vaikuntham. The show has been Titled Perfect Synergy as this is a group show wherein artists from different walks of life’s have come together to present a show together.

Ms. Beth A. Payne, Consulate General of USA was our Guest of Honor on 23rd October, 2009 at 7 PM at The Tea Lounge, The Oberoi Grand Hotel. Genesis Gallery has grown to become one the most consistent, regular and reliable galleries over a period of more than two decades. In all these years it has showcased a varied collection of contemporary Indian art, ranging from solo shows of major arists such as Ram Kinker Baij, Manik Lal Bandopadhyaya, Robin Mandal, Isha Mohammed, Rameshwar Broota, Suhas Roy, Thomas Easley and others, to a number of group shows representing talented artists such as Thota Vaikuntham, Satish Gujral, Bose Krishnamachari, to name a few. Through its camps and group shows, the gallery has invited important artists from other centers of Indian and South Asian Art to Kolkata like Navjot, Vasundhra Tiwari, Jatin Das, Jagdish Chander, Laxma Goud, to name a few. The connectivity to major art centers such as Bharat Bhavan, Shanti Niketan, and Chola Mandalam has been pivotal to the success of Genesis and its sister concern Habiart Foundation, in the capital city of New Delhi.

Further, the Gallery has has constantly reinvinetd itself in terms of recently introducing Art in Cinemas (Inox, Kolkata) Art in Clubs (Bengal Rowing Club) and Art In Hotels (Oberoi, Taj, Raddisson, to name a few), Art in Public Spaces (). Further the Gallery has initiated Art Camps, Workshops and Fairs.

Ms Isha Mody Patodia, who combines her abiding interest in art and culture with a management degree from UK, is one of the youngest Art Gallery Directors. She is shaping up Genesis as an effective forum for creating awareness of contemporary Indian art in the West through commercially viable solo and collaborative projects. Genesis will focus on the commercial aspects of art and create value by working closely with national and international artists. Efforts would be made to strengthen the regional movement in fine arts and establish cross-cultural art exchange programmes.
